Welcome back to How to Podcast for Business, and in this episode we're talking about your why. So, you’re now thinking, I like the sound of podcasting for my business and I should do one, but let's check your why.

Why do you want to do a podcast for your business? And more importantly, why would you target audience want to listen?

Before you even start, you need to delve deep into this. What's the motivation behind creating a podcast for you? A business? You've probably already identified that podcasting is a great way to build authority and provide current customers and clients and potential customers and clients with valuable, targeted information, and therefore grow your business and your.

What's the mission behind your podcast?

What message are you sending out?

That could be numerous reasons:

Are you a freelancer, a business, a marketing manager? you might want to be seen as a leader in your field? build authority - you might want to inform, educate, inspire, share experiences with your customers and target audience, and give them valuable and entertaining content?

You might want to update your current clients with news, views, information, or reviews.

You might want to recruit staff, gain more students, build new customers. Really think about this because this will inform your target audience. It might be just for you to self-develop, to team build. You might do a podcast weekly with the team.

So, think about it. Think about it alongside your business. What's your business Why? Why do you do what you do? It should align. Does it align with your why? It should also inform your podcast bio. My bio? Yes. The bio is a summary of what it actually is (the podcast) so that people know what they're listening to.

Write down three sentences that sum up your podcast.

Think about your elevator pitch when you're at a networking event for business or meeting someone for the first time and telling them about exactly what your business is and what it aims to achieve. Your podcast is the same.

I want to share my experience in all aspects of audio, to as many businesses as possible, to enable them to create their own podcast because I'm passionate about podcasts and how they can help business.

This is mine by way of example:

My elevator pitch would be: I teach businesses how to create their own podcasts. “How to podcast for business, an introduction” - You're easy, step by step guide to everything you need to start and grow a successful show.

Take some time to look at your why. What makes you do what you do, and how can this be transferred into a podcast? If you want to know more about that, about doing your bio, your summary, or looking at ways of discovering your why or what would be good for your business podcast, do get in touch for a chat www.voiceitpodcastagency.co.uk
