How Can Your Business Benefit From A Podcast?

Kath Lord-Green Season 1 Episode 3

What are the business benefits of Podcasting?

Podcasts offer a great way for businesses to reach people in their target market with content that can help improve their brand awareness, recall and reputation.

Aligned with Brand Goals a Podcast should be on your radar.

Podcasts are popular, podcasts are getting more popular.

Your business could stand out from your competitors if you have a Podcast!

But who could your podcast be for?

Know your audience and ensure the content is what they need!

Here are some examples:

To your team:

The podcast has a real advantage for salespeople who are constantly on the go…. they are a vehicle (a lot) they can listen to updated company information and stay in the loop about changes that are occurring in the business AND listen to what their customers/clients are being sent via email by way of newsletters or on social media.

No-one need to miss an update! Your team can listen to any company news they have missed at a time convenient to them.

Internal information can be transferred by way of a monthly podcast, just record, edit and send via email or invest in a dedicated company app or add it to your current intranet - your teams can listen, when or where they want too! You could even add 15mins to their own time off to listen??

Your Podcast can also be used for your current clients…

Your emailing list is a great marketing tool – why not update your Newsletter into a Podcast? That way your clients can listen to what you are sending them (or have a choice of whether to listen or read) on a monthly basis, people do multi-task when listening to Podcasts, but you can’t when you’re reading Newsletter or watching a video!

Your podcast can attract new clients…

Whenever a business wants to change its marketing emphasis, their podcast will change with them.

Podcasts enable potential customers to find out more about a particular company its updated news, its range of products and services.. without feeling pressured by a salesperson.

A friendly voice explaining what makes the company unique is a great way to convert a potential client into a customer.

Podcasting is intimate – it gives you a great sense of the company.

Social Media clips of the Podcast with Soundbite teasers will draw in potential clients on the Platforms they see your brand!

The other really great thing about podcasts is that they have an incredibly wide reach. Clients from across the world can access your business information, and learn about you in a simple, direct manner at any time, and without having to be tied to a computer.

Welcome back to How to Podcast for Business.

What are the business benefits of podcasting?

Podcasts offer a great way for businesses to reach people in their target market with content that can improve their brand awareness, recall, and reputation.

Aligned with your brand goals. A podcast should be on your radar.

Podcasts are popular and podcasts are getting more popular. Your business could stand out from your competitors if you have a podcast, but who could you podcast be for?

Know your audience and ensure the content is what they need. Here are some examples:

Your podcast can be used for your current clients. We touched on this in the previous episode.

Your emailing list is a great marketing tool and an absolute goldmine. Why not update your newsletter into a podcast? By emailing out the audio file, your clients can listen to what you're sending them.

People do multitask remember when listening to podcasts ,and you can't when you’re reading a newsletter or watching a video, you're killing two birds with one stone.

If you transcribe your podcast and you're giving your clients or potential clients, the choice of whether to listen or read. Podcasts can also attract new clients.

Whenever a business wants to change its marketing emphasis, the podcast will change with them. Podcasts enable potential customers to find out more about a particular company: It's updated news, its range of products and services - without feeling pressured by the sales team. A friendly voice explaining what makes the company unique is a great way to convert a potential client into a customer.

Podcasting is intimate. It gives you a great sense of the company and the culture. If a potential customer is hearing authentic information and getting real value from your business podcast episode, they'll more easily convert into a paying customer.

Social media clips of the podcast with sound-bite teasers will draw in potential clients on the platform they see your post.

The other really great thing about podcasts is that they have an incredible wide reach. Clients from across the world can access your business information and learn about you in a simple, direct manner at any time and without having to be tied to a computer.

My personal favourite is internal podcasts and the benefits to your team (see my blog on CIPs – Company Internal Podcasts via my website www.voiceitpodcastagency.co.uk).The podcast has a real advantage for salespeople who are constantly on the go (and they're in a vehicle a lot). They can listen to updated company information and stay in the loop about changes that are occurring in the business and listen to what their customers and clients are being sent via email by way of a newsletter or on social media.

While on the go! no-one need to miss an update. Your team can listen to any company news they have missed at a time convenient to them. Internal information can be transferred by way of a monthly podcast. Just record, edit, and send via email or invest in a dedicated CIP, A Company Internal Podcast. You could even add 15 minutes to their own time off to listen, giving them that dedicated time to take in that company information.

I dedicate a whole episode to Internal Communications via the CIP, later in this series. But if you can't wait and you want to dive right in, enter your email on my website www.voiceitpodcastagency.co.uk and I'll be in touch.
